DO I REMOVE EAR WAX MYSELF OR BY A QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL?
Many people think that it is a good idea to give themselves a home remedy treatment for ear wax removal. This is NOT a good idea. It can lead to all sorts of complications.
Firstly, no one can see directly into their own ear canal or eardrum, which means they don’t even know if their ear problem is caused by ear wax or something else. We have had instances where a client has been referred to us because they have tried to clear their ears with a solution of bicarbonate of soda or washing up liquid. This can damage the eardrum and can also cause infections to arise.
We advise that you take care when using foam ear pads on earplugs as we recently had a client who had a foam pad lodge in his ear canal which we were not able to remove and the client was referred to A&E.
Cotton buds are another source of problems that can be troublesome. Instead of cleaning the ear canal they push the wax further into the ear which can cause internal bleeding inside the ear.
We at Stourbridge Hearing Centre are inviting anyone for a free ear check. If the wax is present we can remove it if wanted.
Our prices are reasonable.
£60.00 FOR BOTH EARS
